Finally, my hardware recommendation list is up. It took a long time surfing through the internet to find the hardwares that has the best user experience, mass produced, reasonable price and most of all… Mac OSx compatible. There are some compatibility lists on the internet but this list has been filtered out for building a new Hackintosh.
Thanks to all hackintosh communities for the great information!

sad and frustrated, two days trying to go on and my pc just stay in gray screen, without kernel panics, just stay gray and sad….
Have done all the steps correctly, even i removed all devices, hard drives and just leaved the hd for mac, dvd drive and of course keyboard and mouse (the only usb devices)
My mb is an z68ma-d2h-b3 r.1.3 the dsdt were f8…
HELP IS NEEDED AND APPRECIATED!
there are many reasons for staying on the gray screen with the apple logo.
first try -v GraphicsEnabler = No on the chimera boot screen and see what it says. I need to know your hardware specs, what part of the process of my tutorial that you are stuck on, and the items that you’ve checked on multibeast to help you out. thanks for the comment!
shunu, you’re my jedi master to find the light and get the force…
The problem appears when i update to 10.6.8 and try to boot without iboot (even with iboot i can’t acces!). In the green screen i got the apple logo dissappears after a while.
my specs:
processor 2600k
z68ma-d2h-b3 r.1.3 the dsdt f8
intel hd3000 graphics
4 gb ram
sata ii hd
i removed everything, usb devices except kb and mouse, and leave only 4 gb of ram as tonymac recommended, i’ll install all the ram later if i get a succesfull instalation
Show me how the force will be with me, please!
i forgot… in multibeast i set everything as my mb is a gigabyte, except 3rd party esata and of course the settings for a mac mini since i’m trying to run it with integrated hd3000.
Thanks, really really really appreciated.
maybe I’ve forgot to metion 1 thing.. in the bios setting there is ‘on board GPU shared ram.’ try to set it more than 384 mb or more,
please leave me a report after trying. goodluck!!
hey shunu!! right now i’m writing you at my new hackintosh, thanks to you!!! let me explain what i did, i just disabled the graphics as you told me until i get lion to successfully run hd 3000…. voila, have running my system for some hours and everything works PERFECTLY, even the sleep mode, the only weird think is that when i select a wallpaper, at the restart i get the andromeda lion wallpaper, so every time i want a new wallpaper i must select it manually… but is ok, now i’ve got a mac
Thanks shun, you’re my hackintosh jedi masta! hehehehe.
hey~~ thanks for the report!
didn’t you have to fix the gpu shared ram? if you didn’t have to, it’s fine then. maybe the most important part was to set graphicsenabler no till upgrading to lion.
congratulations for your build.. thanks to chameleon, tonymac, and the whole hackintosh community. we can build a real mac alternative by our selves.
maybe I’m not a jedi master level yet, but maybe a jedi knight who has many things to learn perhaps?
have a great time with your hackintosh!!!
you’re above a Knight, at least a JMA (Jedi Master Apprentice)
thumbs up for your work!!
thanks was21! the few people who encourage me are the biggest motivation for me now! thanks!!
Hi there. What can you say about Crossfire or SLI? We know Mac Pro does support double graphic card, but I’m not sure, I think it’s a different system. It is not Crossfire or SLI. Can a Hackintosh support dual graphic card?
Hi!
As Mac pros, the hackintosh does support dual graphics but does not support Crossfire or SLI for improving performance. And the dual GPU cards are also not supported, so stay away from them as well
Well, thanks, but I found something interesting here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oUY2_UyQUY
this user says could use dual GPU, and when installing the OS, we can see is using dual gpu, and all working.
Sorry if I’ve been annoying with this thing, but I really, really want to have it working. THanks again.
Oh~ I’ve seen the video. using dual Graphics card doesn’t mean it’s working on crossfire. it’s just better for multiple displays. the word ‘dual GPU’ that I’ve used, didn’t mean 2 Graphics adaptors. there are models that has double 6870 graphics processing unit inside one card.(single card, dual GPU chips) and those aren’t compatible…
Hey.
My friend has a H61M Gigabyte board and very cheap video card GeForce 210 with i3-2120 Sandy Bridge.
I guess the board is:

Video card:

Do you think this system may work in Mac OS X Lion?
I will be helping him to get UniBeast and Multibeast for Lion.
Thank you again.
Hi Jason! hello again.
yes they will work just fine. with the 210 graphics card, I assume you’ll need a EFI string injection to get multiple monitors working. look for more information in the hackintosh tips section.
good luck for your freinds build.
Since your site is called “My Mac 4 Music”, I take that to mean you make music. I do, too, and I’m looking to build a hackintosh for my next PC. In my previous experimentations in hackintoshes, one common issue has always been audio hardware, especially if the onboard audio is not supported/hackable by AppleHDA. What do you use/recommend in terms of audio cards? Do you just use the onboard?
Hi chris!! Yes you’re right. I just try to make every kind of digital content with my mac (which is a hackintosh), but making music is my main activity. about the onboard sound card, I think the most well supported audio is the realtek models, especially the acl889. for the external audio interface, make sure it supports mac OSx in the specifications, it will mean that it will have a official driver for macs. I personally use the UA-4FX by Roland. it’s a bit old model but it has everything what I need for the moment.

I am using Mac os x lion USB Thumb Drive
well I think what you need the most is graphics. I think you won’t have any luck with those specs. sorry..
Thanks for replying……
Hello, I’ve been able to install SL to my laptop, using your guide until the reboot part after combo update to 10.6.8 + multibeast. But the problem arose when I try to boot via iBoot (I can’t boot from HD even after chameleon installed, haven’t tried your troubleshoot solution though). With GraphicsEnabler=Yes, I stuck on the grey screen. With GraphicsEnabler=No, stuck on apple boot screen, the screen didn’t actually black out, just the quarter up part of the screen is black, and I stuck on that. What do you think? In multibeast I use easybeast install.
I’m using ASUS N43SL with these spec:
- Intel Core i7-2670QM 2,2 GHz
- Nvidia GeForce GT540M 2GB
- 4 GB memory
- etc
I boot using verbose once and it said about PCI and AHCI..help please
sorry for my late reply… the gt540m graphics is the problem…
I’ve not seen any report about completely working gt540m.
